When is the last time you got in touch with your hunger? Hunger can be one of your greatest allies on the road to recovery.
Our natural hunger can be described as an unpleasant feeling either in your stomach or other sensations throughout your body. These sensations happen when there is fluctuation in our leptin hormone level. When you do not eat your leptin level decreases and your body instantly recognizes this drop, in response it signals the release of secondary hormone, ghrelin, this triggers the feeling of ‘hunger’.
Everyone is born with ‘natural hunger’ simply for the reason that without food we will not survive. Our ‘natural hunger’ or ‘motivation’ to consume food has developed over thousands of years of evolution; without this survival instinct the human race would not exist today.
