Anyone else suffer from GERD?

Hey guys, I'm over 2 months b/p free, but just got an upper endoscopy because I've been some tummy trouble. The diagnosis is mild GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease). I was prescribed Omeprazole, which I am supposed to take once daily, and I am supposed to avoid chocolate, mint, coffee, citrus fruit, tomatoes, alcohol, and pepper, which sucks since I pretty much love all of those things =(. If any of you also suffer from this condition, can you tell me how you're doing? Does it get better over time? Will I be able to eat and drink that stuff again?
