I used to get sores from dry

I used to get sores from dry skin around my mouth and face. I also had a horrible dry skin rash around my stomach and legs, which can be linked to bulimia I've read. Have you ever had unexplained body rashes or irritated skin?

I reccomend....

Using Gold Bond's Ultra Healing lotion. I have dry skin anyway, but when you are binging and purging you are dehydrating yourself and so you can get dry patches on your body. I use lotion like Gold Bond because it helps with the itch and is really thick so it helps moisterize.

bulimia can cause dry skin

bulimia can cause dry skin they say its due to dehydration i read that that you should have lots of vitamin c and omega oils for good skin (get some suppliments)

i find that 'simple derma' cream and lotions are really good for both body and face, my shins and hands and elbows were really scaly ish before i started using that, it works wonders :)

oh by the way

amywishy- if its just around your mouth and if you use your fingers to purge then its probably due to prolonged contact with vomit

I get dry skin permanently. I

I get dry skin permanently. I wear black underwear and when I take my clothes off at the end of the day, flakes and flakes of dry skin is stuck to my underwear and t.shirts etc.

I get dry skin on my chin but think this could be from toothpaste (Im messy! lol)

My legs are like snakeskin and my hands and elbows permanently dry despite how much cocoa butter or e45 cream I use.

Just part and parcel or this e.d I guess. It is through dehydration and lack of oils in diet. sadly I get too freaked out to even take codliver oil, omega oil and anything with the word 'oil'. Silly I know.

when i stopped b/p for a

when i stopped b/p for a month and after thatwhich help remineralize, like 2 times per week (although i am into 1 week finallyand again!) the red pimply like dots disappeared around my mouth. its def. from vomiting. i used to be so embarrassed and makeup didnt do the trick either. gross. i was even afraid other bulimics walking past me would notice!
but my skin is way less dry, i eat much much better, i drink lots of water, and dont b/p as much.
i guess, like any of our health issues, the best way to get rid of them is to stop b/p. easier said than done.

Eucerin body pastey lotion stuff is amazing. its a little expensive but a little goes a long way.

I definitely find my skin

I definitely find my skin worsens in correlation with bulimic episodes. I think (as previously mentioned) it is down to dehydration and possible vitamin/mineral deficiencies. After a b/p episode, I think the best thing to do is try to replenish the fluid lost. This does not mean drinking large volumes, but rather a cup or two of water or other beverage. Also, make sure your diet is adequate in the necessary vitamins (Vitamin A is particularly beneficial for the skin).

Achievement seems to be connected with action. Successful men and women keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.
