Hope this is ok... here for a loved one

Hi everyone, I am 22 years old and am actually joining this community for my cousin who is in recovery fro bulimia. I hope it is ok that I want to join even though I don't have an eating disorder, but I have tried other communities that are created for friends and family of those with bulimia and I did not find them helpful. I am very close with my cousin, we talk almost everyday, and I am hoping that this community will help me to understand the struggle she is going through during recovery, and hopefully I can get her to join this too because I think it will be a big help!

Anyway, I hope that you all can welcome me, and I hope I can be of some help too by sharing some of my own experiences.

Your cousin is SOO lucky to have you!! Of course you are welcome here...we're all learning from each other...one day at a time. Just remember that sometimes all your cousin needs is a cheerful hello and a daily check in...even a simple text message at night might stop a binge right before it starts. It seems silly, but knowing that people are supportive will get her through this...even through the tiniest of gestures.
