How to Tell your doctor you have bulimia?

okay so i have an appointment with my doctor a week tuesday, which my sister made me book as she found out about the bulimia.
i feel i need her in the room with me to get it out to the doctor why im there at all as i dont know if i'll be able to.
but then when the doctor asks questions, i dont know how honest i'll be with her in the room,
anyone know what kind of questions my doctor will ask me or what she'll do?
thankss :)

hey, i am from the u.k and

hey, i am from the u.k and tbh my doctor never asked much he asked how long i had been doing it for, how often i do it. He weighed me took my height, checked my heart breathing and blood pressure to check everything was okay. Then he said he could refer me to some one who specialises in eds if i want the help. Hope i helped. And about being honest you probably will be more honest on your own, but it depends i went in alone but my friends were worried i hadnt told the doc and stuff, which is understandable i guess. Good luck :)

maybe write down beforehand

maybe write down beforehand what you think you should say. and you can either give it to the doctor or you can read it out. or you can leave a message for the doctor saying that you have bulimia and you find it hard to talk about, therefore they will know the issue beforehand and you won't have to admit it all...

I didnt go into a lot of

I didnt go into a lot of detail cos i didnt really want to but if your doctor is understanding and comforting you will probably feel better about going into detail and stuff, he gave me a slip to get my bloods checked but i didnt go and i didnt seek health either i was going too but i was too sacred, and i believed i could do it alone and it has been nearly two months now :) it could have been 3 but i messed up in the first month. I hope you are doing well, where are you from? X

i made sure to book the

i made sure to book the appointment with my favourite doctor there, which is why i had to book an appointement 2 weeks away - im guessing everyone thinks the same of her. she's very thorough and understanding so i think i'll be able to be quite open. what was the slip for blood tests for, do you think i'll have to get that?
thats so good that you're managing on your own though - i dont think im strong enough at all to do that! what do you do?
im from Coventry, yourself? xx

Oh thats good that you have a

Oh thats good that you have a nice doc i went to a boy which i think was a mistake and i just felt he wasnt very understanding. It is hard on your own but just talking to ppl helps a lot. I am from liverpool. And i had in my head everything i was goimg to say but i cant even remember if i said it all nowhaha. The blood tests is just to check everything is ok certain levels and tha to be on the safe side, you may have to get them done just to check your health. Xx

yeah i dont think i could

yeah i dont think i could talk to a man about it. aha yeah i know all i need to say but on the day whether it will come out or not i dont know!
oh yeah, i think i'd like to do one if i get given the chance, just to check everythings ok - or not in a bad situation. although it would give me more incentive to get better!
glad your doing well though - you must be quite a strong person as its not an easy thing to take control of x

I didnt think i was strong

I didnt think i was strong but for some reason i knew it was worth seeing if i could do it on my own its working up to now and its as scary as hell. But hopefully in the long run everything will be great. I am going to get some sleep now i have work tomorrow lol. Oh you can ask to get your blood checked if your doc doesnt say to you. Let me know how it goes good luck:) xx

if they ask for blood tests

if they ask for blood tests then they might want to check your potassium (since it goes low from purging which is quite risky) and other electrolytes like sodium, etc. or your thyroid function or for anaemia, coz if you're not getting the nutrients you need you may become anaemic...

ah yeah i read yesterday

ah yeah i read yesterday something about bulimia can make you anemic, i had a look at the symptoms and there were ones like diziness, tired, lack of energy, which i very ofter get but not sure if this could just be from not eating or if theres a chance of being anemic?
do you know the risks of the other things you mentioned? thanks :) x
