Could be just water weight.

My period had been absent for two years up until I started getting it again. Once my hormones kicked in I had two pounds of water weight. Usually anytime a female starts her period there is water weight. The best thing to do is wait until your period ends and give it a few days to see if your weight dimishes a few pounds. When I get my period, I can have to five or ten pounds of water weight each cycle. Then it goes away. Water can be retained all over the body when one has her period. Do not worry, stay strong. Everything will normal out eventually.

When I stopped b/p'ing and

When I stopped b/p'ing and the swelling went down in my face, I found that in the early morning as I arose I physically felt and saw a poofy face ( naturally have a chubby face, like a baby!, but this was different), and the poofy face was just as pressure-like feeling and full of water retention as my lower legs. As I walked around and woke up, it would go away kinda for the day, and the next morning have the same thing again.
Now I dont get it anymore (20days no b/p). I think drinking lots of water and avoiding sodium helps.
